他们这样说
Crossroads Community Center is honored to support Memory Garden. During each gathering, participants are welcomed into a warm, respectful, and highly interactive environment. What impressed us most is the joy, confidence, and connection participants demonstrate during activities. The activities not only encourage social participation, but also help participants maintain confidence, dignity, and a sense of belonging within the community. Memory Garden has brought meaningful energy, compassion, and cultural connection to our community center, and we strongly support its continued growth and development.
Karen is well on her way to becoming one of those vital sources of care and support to the community. She had 29 attendees at her 10 Warning Signs presentation — that is no small accomplishment, and she is to be commended! She has already begun to have a significant impact with the information she offers and the safe space she provides. I look forward to what is to come!
My husband was so happy after attending the activity. In the past, he would want to leave and lose his temper whenever there were too many people around, but this time the volunteers were warm and welcoming, and he felt completely at ease. He actually stayed and finished making the photo frame craft from start to finish. The singing activity was wonderfully designed — guiding participants to revisit memories and sparking their natural competitive spirit, which is so beneficial for slowing cognitive decline. After the event, I noticed communication with him became smoother and he was much more at ease. Where he used to get upset, this time he managed it — and that meant so much to me.
I had the privilege of supporting Memory Garden at Crossroads Community Center, where Karen welcomed a full house of Chinese seniors — including her own mom — into this new program she created. The joy in the room was something you could feel immediately. Karen is a reminder that some of the most powerful innovations in caregiving can start with one person asking: "How can I make this better for the people I love?" And then doing something about it.
